Morning Fun!

Two interviews were scheduled to air this morning on “The Daily Buzz” for client Debbie Gibson and her boyfriend Dr. Rutledge to talk about their collaboration on his film “3 Billion and Counting” as well as her new album. Since they were still on the east coast wrapping up the film screening at the QUAD Cinema in New York, a Skype interview was the perfect choice.

However, lesson learned this morning: Skype interview + live show = technical issues. At 7:30 am, Skype connection is made for the 7:37 am live shot. During those seven minutes, video lost, video up, audio not properly working, audio working but with feedback so segment delayed. Issues continue when the next hit rolls around at 7:45 so producers work to move other scheduled segments in the TV show around to find a new time slot. Interview now scheduled for 8:15 am but, once again, technical issues pop up seconds before going live. After these failed attempts, the executive decision is made to tape the interview post show.

As the saying goes, “everything happens for a reason.” Clients used their down time to start packing for their afternoon flight back to LA, where the film will begin screening tomorrow night at the Leamie until September 30, and two interviews were taped without a technical hitch. Here’s a picture from the control room.

Tune in tomorrow at 7:45 am ET to see the interview and then stay tuned because at 8:15 am ET Gibson will talk about about her new album. To find your local station, log on to http://www.dailybuzznow.com.
