The elite performing arts camp, “Deborah Gibson’s Electric Youth,” is holding scholarship auditions for its summer 2010 camp. Scholarships will be awarded to qualifying kids, ages 10 to 20, who want to attend the one-week camp in Hollywood, California. The summer camp, scheduled from Monday, July 12, through Friday, July 16, will include classes in vocal technique, pop performance, dance, monologues, music theory, improvisation, stand-up comedy, and musical theater.

The scholarship auditions are Saturday, May 29, at the Howard Fine Acting Studio located at 1445 N. Las Palmas Ave., in Hollywood, CA 90028. Audition times are only by appointment. For audition information, email electricyouth08@aol.com.

Media are invited from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM to interview Founder Deborah Gibson and scholarship participants as well as obtain b-roll. The event is closed to the general public.

Deborah Gibson’s passion to foster and mentor young performers led her to create “Deborah Gibson’s Electric Youth,” in July 2008. The series of performing arts camps and songwriting/recording intensives provide young people who are serious about embarking on a career in entertainment with arts education in a nurturing, creative, disciplined, and fun atmosphere.
